The Chicken Qaballah of Rabbi Lon Milo DouQuette, sometimes falsely titled The Living Chain of Being by Rabbi Louise Rosenblum, is an allegorical and somewhat whimsical work that attempts to introduce the chicken, the qabalah, and the role of Kabbalah in esotericism. It is not a serious work, intended by its author Lon Milo Dubuette to be a satire or a parody of serious esoteric texts, but rather filled with wit and appeal to a certain kindred spirit audience. Informational in part, however, it also invites the reader into what he describes as a tentative, make-believe chat about esoteric topics.
The text's characters are drawn primarily from the Kabbalistic system and include philosophers, hermits, angels, humanities and animals. From the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Rabbi Lameed Ben Clilford - seems to have been one of the principles protagonists, presenting his own strange worldview in prose Dilettantee's guides to Qabalah and how to become a often improbable and surreal .
